WEX announces $6,000,000 Financing

International Wex Technologies Inc. ("Wex" or the "Company") announces that it has entered into an engagement letter (the "Agreement") with Jennings Capital Inc. ("Jennings"), whereby Jennings will act as the Company's exclusive agent (the "Agent") for the purpose of effecting, on a "best efforts" basis, a private placement of up to $6,000,000 of Units, with an over-allotment of $4,000,000 of Units. The purchase price for each Unit will be $5.00 and each Unit will consist of one common share and half a warrant. Each whole warrant will be exercisable for 24 months at a price of $5.55 in the first year and $6.65 thereafter. The Agent may make co-brokerage arrangements with other investment dealers. The private placement is expected to close on or before January 15, 2004. In addition, Jennings will act as sponsor for listing of the Company's shares on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The proceeds of the offering will be applied primarily to fund the global development of Tectin™ and for general working capital. The over-allotment will be applied primarily for the development of Tetrodin™ in Canada and additional working capital.

The Agent will be paid up to 7.5% commission and will also receive Agent's Warrants to acquire a number of common shares up to 8% or the number of Units issued. The agent warrants will be exercisable for 24 months at the issue price.
