International Wex Technologies Inc. (the "Company") is pleased to announce the closing of a private placement pursuant to the Company's news release issued on August 21, 2003 for 325,000 units @ $1.75 per unit. Each unit consists of one common share @ $1.75 per share and one non-transferable share purchase warrant entitling the placees to purchase one additional common share @ $2.00 per share & @ $2.40 per share during the first & second year, respectively, expiring two years from the closing of the private placement. The Company has received written confirmation from the TSX Venture Exchange on the approval for the closing of this private placement. Details of this private placement are as follows:

Number of Shares Issued 325,000 common shares.

Purchase Price: $1.75 per share.

Hold Period for Shares Issued: One year hold expiring September 13, 2004.

Warrants: 325,000 share purchase warrants to purchase 325,000 common share.

Warrant Exercise Price: $2.00 in the first year
$2.40 in the second year
Expiring September 12, 2005

Number of Placees: 7 placees

Insider Participation: Nil

Finder's Fee: $39,375.00 paid to Union Securities Ltd.

In the area of neuro-bioscience, the Company is focusing on the fields of pain management, drug addiction treatment and anaesthesia. The Company is developing products that contain a sodium channel blocking compound and derivatives extracted from natural organic substances using its proprietary manufacturing technology.
