International Wex Technologies Inc. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has officially issued to the Company US Patent No. 6,599,906 under the title of "Method of Local Anesthesia and Analgesia".

This patent relates to a method of producing local anesthesia and analgesia in a nerve tissue region, such as facial pain, by topical administration of sodium channel blocking compounds, including tetrodotoxin and/or its analogs. In addition to numerous patents the Company has received worldwide, it extends the coverage from systemic to local application for therapeutic use of the Company's platform technology. The Company will continue to build its intellectual properties, including patents and registered trademarks, and obtain protection internationally.

In the area of neuro-bioscience, the Company is focusing on the fields of pain management, drug addiction treatment and anaesthesia. The Company is developing products that contain a sodium channel blocking compound and derivatives extracted from natural organic substances using its proprietary manufacturing technology.
