International Wex Technologies Inc. is extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Pierre Lapalme to its Board of Directors, effective May 2, 2003.

Mr. Lapalme has enjoyed a distinguished career in biotechnology since 1979. Through his extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and compelling leadership qualities, he achieved, and excelled in, prominent assignments internationally and in Canada (notably, President of Rhône-Poulenc Pharma Canada, Senior Vice President and International Manager of Rhône-Poulenc Pharmaceuticals North America). His experience in the successful development, launching and marketing of new drugs, his expertise in licensing and business development and his thorough understanding of governmental regulatory procedures will significantly enhance Wex`s ability to compete and prosper in this field.

Mr. Lapalme attended the University of Western Ontario and continued his education at INSEAD in France. Pierre is a former member of the Board of the National Pharmaceutical Council (USA) and of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Canada and is currently a member or director on the boards of several international biotech companies.

In the area of neuro-bioscience, the Company is focusing on the fields of pain management, drug addiction treatment and anaesthesia. The Company is developing products that contain a sodium channel blocking compound and derivatives extracted from natural organic substances using its proprietary manufacturing technology.
