Approval for clinical Ia received

International Wex Technologies Inc., (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received a 'NO OBJECTION LETTER' to its Investigational New Drug application. Accordingly, the Company is now permitted to begin its Phase Ia clinical trial in Canada.

Mr. Frank Shum, CEO & Chairman said, "This is a very important milestone for the Company. We now have the opportunity to do a Phase Ia clinical trial on healthy volunteers in Canada. Earlier this year we performed animal validation studies to compare Canadian and Chinese results and they were very reproducible. We are positive that these human trials will also confirm like results." Mr. Shum added, "We wish to thank all of our loyal shareholders who have supported us during this long process. Your support has enabled us to where our product Tetrodin, will now be thoroughly tested on humans through regulatory monitored channels. Your faith in our Company will see the validation of Tetrodin for 2 indications. This in turn, will assist those people in need of opiate drug withdrawal treatment and provide the world with one of its strongest analgesics. A special thank-you also, to our talented and dedicated staff, and consultants."

On December 6, 2000, the Company will begin tests with its first healthy volunteer at the Company's chosen clinic, in Toronto. The last volunteer to be processed through this clinic will be mid-January, 2001. The Company has chosen to use a far greater number of people than is normal at this stage because it wishes to assure the safety level for human use. Total number of healthy volunteers at this stage will be approximately 80.

Tetrodin has been developed by the Company primarily as a treatment for the symptoms associated with withdrawal from all opiate addictions such as morphine, opium, heroin and methadone. It is a non-narcotic pharmaceutical that has proven to be safe and effective and functions well in both primary withdrawal treatment and abstinence maintenance (longer term use) of drug addiction. The Company has also begun tests on the usage of Tetrodin as a potent analgesic.
