Research Facility Passes Inspection

International Wex Technologies Inc. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Nanning Maple Leaf Pharmaceutical Co, Ltd., its manufacturing and research facility in P.R.C., has recently been inspected by the Chinese authority which regulates licenses for the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. Our facility has been qualified to renew its license for the production of pharmaceutical products. This is most important to the firm, as it will allow us to manufacture our drug substance and drug product during our entry into phase 1(a) clinical trials in Canada. The Company is waiting for comment from Health Protection Branch Canada (HPB) as to the result of their review on the Company's Investigational New Drug application and expects the results in the 1st half of December, 2000.

Tetrodin has been developed by the Company primarily as a treatment for the symptoms associated with withdrawal from all opiate addictions such as morphine, opium, heroin and methadone. It is a non-narcotic pharmaceutical that has proven to be safe and effective and functions well in both primary withdrawal treatment and abstinence maintenance (longer term use) of drug addiction. The Company has also begun tests on the usage of Tetrodin as a potent analgesic.
