Review of Preclinical Data on Tetrodin/Toxicology

International Wex Technologies Inc., ("the Company") has received a report from Dr. Barry Osborne of Safety Testing Services Inc., an independent firm with more than 30 years experience specializing in toxicology. After reviewing all of the available documentation regarding the Company's work in China and the testing currently under way to validate the Chinese toxicology findings via a Canadian laboratory, he has issued a summary paper to the Company that states;

"SUMMARY"

"A review of detailed pharmacological, toxicological and some initial clinical data on Tetrodin (HT) was performed. Such data was generated in a Chinese research laboratory working under GLP conditions. From the aspect of an independent toxicology reviewer who has evaluated such data after its professional translation into English, it is concluded that this potential drug has been appropriately tested for safety. Despite some minor differences in study protocol design (as compared to Western standards) and some differences in parameters evaluated during the studies the toxicological data appear sound. Furthermore a repeat of two rat toxicology studies in a Canadian research laboratory, similarly performed under GLP conditions will prove the data verification of these conclusions."

This report will now form part of the material that will be presented to the HBP when it meets for its pre-IND meeting in Ottawa on Thursday August 31, 2000.

Tetrodin(HT) has been developed by the company primarily as a treatment for the symptoms associated with withdrawal from all opiate addictions such as morphine, opium, heroin and methadone. It is a non-narcotic pharmaceutical that has proven to be safe and effective and functions well in both primary withdrawal treatment and abstinence maintenance (longer term use) of drug addiction. The company has also begun tests on the usage of Tetrodin(HT) as a potent analgesic.
