Date: 2000/06/07
International Wex Technologies Inc. (the "company", "Wex") is
pleased to report on the results of its first Advisory Board
meeting. All participants had extremely relevant input and
constructive suggestions. Wex has purposely chosen a diverse
group of advisors from different fields that could assist the
company in its total planning.
In summation, the science group suggested that Wex publish the
testing results for Tetrodin in internationally recognized
journals. Further the company should make an effort to make
presentations at leading international conferences, symposiums and
government agencies, worldwide. The scientists in attendance
offered to prepare these scientific papers and make presentations.
The financial group decided to prepare a total evaluation package
to include corporate structure and tax planning in the scope of
Wex as an international corporate entity. They are also using their
considerable contacts to bring Wex to the attention of major
financial advisory groups.
The medical group was adamant that keeping Tetrodin from the
market was a catastrophe for those in need of this type of
non-addictive opiate drug withdrawal treatment. They encouraged
Wex to review all regulatory and legal steps available to the
company to commence sales of Tetrodin. The group stated that they
had several independent clinical research institutes waiting to
evaluate the content of the translated documentation.
The legal group recommended that the company should proceed
on an expeditious basis with the application for new drug licenses
by undertaking the following steps:
(a) Draft and formulate a safety application procedure designed by
eminent experts for the use and application of Tetrodin in treatment
of patients;
(b) Applying to the FDA (USA), HPB (Canada) and EMEA (Europe) as
quickly as possible and where feasible investigate and apply under
an accelerated process for new drug application.
(c) Ensure that all our intellectual property is properly protected
under an international umbrella.
The company thanks all participants in this 1st Advisory Board meeting
and all input will be carefully weighed. Further updates will follow.
Tetrodin has been developed by the company primarily as a treatment for
the symptoms associated with withdrawal from all opiate addictions such
as morphine, opium, heroin and methadone. It is a non-narcotic
pharmaceutical that has proven to be safe and effective and functions
well in both primary withdrawal treatment and abstinence maintenance
(longer term use) of drug addiction. The company has also begun tests
on the usage of Tetrodin as a potent analgesic.
