POSITION:
Position/Title: Lead Clinical Research Associate
About the company: Wex Pharmaceuticals Inc. (“WEX” or the “Company”), an international pharmaceutical company focusing on pain management solutions, is actively seeking applications from qualified individuals to join its clinical team in Vancouver.
Reports to: Vice President – Scientific & Regulatory Affairs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement and Revise the Recruitment Plan for ongoing clinical trials under the responsibility of WEX.
- Conduct and supervise monitoring activities
- Act as direct link with CRO of monitoring in order to supervise and ensure operations are conducted according to agreement.
- Implement policies and procedures concerning clinical operations to ensure that all Regulations are strictly followed.
- Ensure and revise the existing clinical SOPs. Participate in the management of Medical Affairs as a full member of the leadership team.
- Maintain the study timeline with attention to budget and milestones and maintain associated documents (correspondence, monitoring reports etc).
- Conduct regular site visits
- Provide guidance and training to other team members
- Liaise with the Clinical Project Manager and Vice President – Scientific & Regulatory Affairs of WEX.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Recognize deficiencies and make proper corrective recommendations for clinical operations.
- Update the team and self on any reviews and changes in policies and laws effecting clinical operations.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Graduation with a bachelor degree in a biological science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in clinical research, clinical nurse role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic understanding and usage of medical terminology is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Good Clinical Practices
- Solid computer skills and practical knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint .
- Willingness to travel periodically to sites
