Vancouver, BC (November 23, 2005) - WEX Pharmaceuticals Inc. (the "Company") today announced that it is requesting that its US Patent No. 6,407,088 "Method of Analgesia" be re-examined in light of prior art discovered during an extensive search conducted by the Company.

The re-examination is intended to introduce such changes to the scope of the patent as may be necessary to ensure that it is valid and enforceable.

The re-examination reflects the Company's continuing determination to strengthen its patent portfolio.
